Ideal grocery shopping container for wheelchair users

4.3 out of 5 stars

Going shopping for groceries/ supermarket independently as a self propelling manual wheelchair user has always been a challenge after checkout. I use a supermarket basket to collect goods but getting them back to my car was often difficult. Normal shopping bags would often tumble off my lap, and back packs difficult to put on and off back of chair and limited capacity without causing tipping danger. This folding shopping container folds flat on my lap underneath shopping basket. At check out I hand over to staff, pulling stiff bottom in to place to fold out to box shape, for them to fill. It has handles on all sides so usually I can get full container back on lap relatively easily, and get back to my car without contents tipping out! I can slide it on to a car seat easily. It means now I rarely need assistance back to my car where it remains very stable for journey. Easy to slide off seat back on to my lap to take inside. Slide sheet or transfer board could be used if heavy. Probably useful for rollator users as well, as would be stable on seat.
