Take care with this cane

2 out of 5 stars

I purchased the product because it had 3 feet and could be stood up on its own independent of hard surfaces, leaving me with both hands free to fumble in my purse whilst leaning against the counter. It had a torch light on the handle and a kind of suspension and I liked the feel of it when I first started to use it.

Within a short time I encountered a big problem when the bottom section fell off as I was entering a lift. I suddenly had no support which frightened me and would have fallen if there hadn't been people in the lift who helped me. My son looked at the cane and said that the base had just unscrewed and he tightened it up. A few days later it had unscrewed itself again whilst I was walking. I tried it one more time with the same result and decided that it was unfit for purpose and sent it back to the retailer.
